Kidney transplant in a child (< than 10 kg) by the renal transplant team. The child was first detected to have renal failure at 16 months and genetic analysis revealed Nephronopthisis type 2. The child was started on peritoneal dialysis at 2 years.

However, the parents could not continue with the dialysis and opted for a transplant. Other hospitals refused to do the procedure as the child weighed just 9.6 kg. After considering all potential risks, the mother was found to be a compatible donor and the transplant was done successfully.
